It’s a bit more of a philosophical, as opposed to practical tips, kind of tutorial, but possibly one of the most important lessons on improvising out there.
In the video I talk about using the melody as a guide, utilising your jazz theory knowledge (modes, guide tones and licks etc) and playing by ear. I also talk about a principle that I use when composing or improvising of balancing contrast and unity.
